Accessibility
Accidental & Co. exists for disabled and neurodivergent people first. That means an accessible store isn't a nice-to-have or a legal checkbox we bolt on at the end. It's the same design constraint as the phrases on the products themselves. If you can't use this site, we haven't finished building it.
Current status
Public storefront routes are being reviewed against WCAG 2.2 AA patterns as the site is finished.
Best way to reach us
Use the contact page and describe the barrier in plain language.
What we won't do
Pretend something is finished if it still needs testing or a better fallback.
Our target
We are building toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the public storefront. That means keyboard operability, color contrast, clear focus indicators, descriptive text alternatives, and forms that announce errors to assistive technology instead of relying on color alone.
What we actively check during storefront reviews
- Keyboard access through navigation, product browsing, forms, and checkout flow.
- Visible focus styles on links, buttons, controls, and active selection states.
- Screen-reader-friendly labels, status text, and error messaging on public forms.
- AA color contrast for primary text, controls, and selected states.
- Touch targets sized for mobile use rather than mouse-only precision.
What's already in place
- The public storefront includes a skip link to jump directly to main content.
- Product pages, the FAQ, and navigation use semantic patterns instead of visual-only cues.
- Selection states such as chosen sizes are communicated in text, not color alone.
- Form validation moves focus to the first invalid field and exposes clear error copy.
- Motion follows reduced-motion preferences where animated UI is used.
Known gaps
We'd rather tell you what's incomplete than pretend it's finished:
- Size-chart measurements are representative unisex-tee numbers until exact per-blank spec sheets are connected from our print partner.
- Product photography is still expanding, so some products currently show one image instead of a full gallery.
- Checkout runs in demo mode while payment processing is being connected, so some payment-specific error cases have not been tested end to end yet.
- When live product data is unavailable, browse and collection pages fall back to honest availability messaging rather than pretending the full catalog is live.
Tell us what's not working
If you hit a barrier anywhere on this site, whether that is a control you can't reach, text you can't read, anything that doesn't work with the tools you use, we want to know. Reach out through contact and describe what happened; we read every message ourselves.
